MAYA DEVI and KRISHNA

                                                        All Glories to Srila Prabhupada

MAYA DEVI and KRISHNA

Oh Krishna! I once believed that Maya Devi was separate from You. But as I slowly entered Your divine world as a fallen soul and began to know You more and more, I realized something deeper. Just as we are, your eternal parts and parcels, Maya Devi too is your creation. In truth, it is You who created Maya — a divine illusion that makes this temporary material world appear permanent and real to the soul.

Hey Mukunda, You created Maya so that we may experience this material world and live through its pleasures and challenges. But look at where we stand today and how we humans are using the freedom which You have granted us through Maya. Some have wandered onto the wrong path, others are striving to remain on the righteous path, and some—like me—are trying to understand and know You.

You have given us “fallen souls” this material world, governed by Maya Devi, who acts as our teacher. Through her, we experience the cycles of birth and death, pleasure and pain, success and failure, attachment and detachment. Through these experiences, we slowly begin to understand that true happiness cannot be found in temporary things.

Hey Paramatma! Your creation of Maya exists so that the fallen soul can attempt to live independently from You. But eventually, the problems, suffering, unanswered questions, and emptiness of material life push us to search for the deeper meaning of our existence and reconnect with You. In this journey, Maya Devi indirectly guides us back to You, Lord.

My dear LORD, please shower Your causeless mercy upon me. Guide my mind so that it does not run behind temporary pleasures. Give me the strength to remember You, serve You, and walk on the path of devotion.

Your Servant 🙏
