Meditate on Krishna and Lead a Peaceful Life

                                                                   Hare Krishna 🙏

Om ajñāna-timirāndhasya jñānāñjana-śalākayā
cakṣur unmīlitaṁ yena tasmai śrī-gurave namaḥ

“I was born in the darkness of ignorance, and my spiritual master opened my eyes with the torchlight of knowledge. I offer my respectful obeisance unto that spiritual master.”

Dear Readers,

Meditation, for me, means learning to control the wavering mind and gaining mastery over my thoughts, actions, and reactions. It helps to create a peaceful state of mind so that we can focus on our true priorities in life. Therefore, I sincerely recommend that everyone practice meditation.

In today’s world, almost all of us—including teenagers—experience stress and in many cases, stress leads to depression.  People constantly try to achieve goals set either by their parents or by themselves. I feel that this pressure has become a major trigger for the stressful lifestyle we see today, although there may certainly be some exceptions.

Do we ever pause and ask ourselves: Is it truly necessary for us to surrender to the pressures of a social web filled with artificiality, arrogance, attitude, and hypocrisy? Many parents push their children to become what they themselves desire, even when the children have no interest in that path. In this race to meet society’s expectations, we often forget the simple truth taught by Lord Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita—that real peace and fulfillment do not come from worldly achievements alone, but from understanding our true purpose and reconnecting with the Divine.

As taught in the Bhagavad Gita through the words of Lord Krishna, this material world is “duḥkhālayam aśāśvatam”—a temporary place full of miseries. We are never truly satisfied with our lifestyle because we do not understand our real purpose in life. Our desires continue to increase.

For example, if we own a small car today, tomorrow we desire a bigger one. If we have a small house, we want a larger one. Our mind constantly demands more and more in order to feel satisfied. But have we ever paused to think: How long can this race continue? How long can we keep running to satisfy our senses with material possessions just to impress others?.

Therefore, today’s topic is Meditation, or Dhyana Yoga—a process to calm the mind, become aware of our sūkṣma (subtle) body, and reconnect with LORD and know him.

“Man-manā bhava mad-bhakto mad-yājī māṁ namaskuru
Mām evaiṣyasi satyaṁ te pratijāne priyo ’si me.”

“Always think of Me, become My devotee, worship Me, and offer your homage unto Me. Thus you will surely come to Me. I promise you this because you are very dear to Me.”

To meditate on Lord Krishna means to constantly think about Him. It means reading about His divine pastimes, contemplating His beautiful form, studying Krishna-lila, chanting His holy names, singing kirtans for the Lord, and worshipping the divine forms of Radha and Krishna. All these practices are ways of meditating on Krishna.

Dear readers, I humbly request you to try this path of Krishna consciousness, or simply try meditating on the Lord. You will begin to notice positive changes in your daily life. Your mind will become calmer, and you will be able to make better decisions.

Gradually, we start understanding the difference between the material world and the path of self-realization. We begin to question where we stand in life, what we are doing, and what we truly need from it—while still fulfilling our responsibilities and keeping our families happy.

In the end, dear readers, I humbly pray at the lotus feet of Lord Krishna that He may shower His mercy upon all of us and guide our wandering minds toward His divine path. This world may offer countless distractions, but true peace lies only in remembering the Lord and chanting His holy names.

If even for a few moments each day, if  we turn our hearts toward Krishna, meditate on His beautiful form, and seek His shelter, our lives will gradually become filled with divine grace and inner joy.

I am not a scholar or a saint—just a humble servant trying to glorify the Supreme Lord. If these words inspire even one soul to remember Krishna, then my effort will be blessed. But the choice remains yours.
