I offer my respectful obeisance unto my spiritual master, who has opened my eyes, which were blinded by the darkness of ignorance, with the torchlight of knowledge.

He was not just a great spiritual, philosophical, and religious preacher, but a divine instrument of the Lord. I truly feel that if Śrīla Prabhupāda had not appeared in this world, the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) would not have come into existence as we see it today.

His determination, courage, conviction, and resilience were extraordinary. Above all, his Vedic knowledge was limitless—flowing like an eternal ocean of wisdom. In this age of Kali-yuga, can we find such a dedicated and selfless soul? One who spread the message of Lord Krishna across the entire world, beyond barriers of religion, nationality, or social status.

Clad in simple saffron robes, he boarded the cargo ship Jaladuta and undertook a courageous voyage to the United States to fulfill the instruction of his Guru. Even after suffering two severe heart attacks during the journey, he did not waver. With unshaken faith, he continued chanting the 

Hare Krishna Mahāmantra:.

Such is the power of the Holy Name—that when one sincerely chants, even Yamarāja, the lord of death, must pause. The Holy Name itself becomes the protector of the soul.

Śrīla Prabhupāda gifted the world with invaluable spiritual literature. His translation and commentary on Bhagavad-gītā As It Is is among the most widely read spiritual books, with millions of copies distributed worldwide. Devotees and seekers alike continue to immerse themselves in its timeless wisdom.

Through his teachings, he showed us the supreme path—to reconnect with the Supreme Lord through:

• sincere devotional service
• disciplined spiritual practice
• study of scriptures
• and constant remembrance of Krishna

Today, we see many initiated spiritual teachers, especially from Western countries, who are faithfully carrying forward his mission. They stand as living examples of his success, spreading Krishna consciousness in every corner of the world, continuing the disciplic succession with devotion and dedication.

From Dasanudasa to our great Ācārya,

I am fallen, imperfect, and still wandering in ignorance, yet by your mercy, a small ray of spiritual light has entered my heart. You have shown the path back to Krishna—a path of love, humility, and surrender.

I have nothing to offer you but my gratitude and my sincere attempt to follow your teachings, however small it may be. Kindly bless me so that I may remain steady on this path of devotion.

Let my mind always remember your instructions,

Let my words glorify the Holy Name,

And let my life, in some small way, serve your divine mission.
